Guillaume Barrera

An alumnus of the École normale supérieure in Paris with a doctorate in political philosophy, Guillaume Barrera teaches philosophy in Advanced Letters at the Lycée Fustel de Coulanges in Strasbourg. His research bears particularly on Montesquieu, classical philosophy, modern and contemporary political thought (from Machiavelli to Tocqueville and the critics and contemporary defenders of liberalism). In 2009 he published Les lois du monde. Enquête sur le dessein politique de Montesquieu (Gallimard), which won the Estrade-Delcros prize in 2010 from the Académie des sciences morales et politiques.
