Catherine Maire is a researcher at the CNRS (National Center for Scientific Research), assigned to CESPRA at the École des hautes études en sciences sociales (Paris).
Author of a thesis on Jansenism in the 18th century, De la cause de Dieu à la cause de la Nation (Paris : Gallimard, 1998), she is at work on a study of the Gallican controversies : “L’Église dans l’État” : politique et religion dans la France des Lumières.
